Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Introduction
Picluma ("Picluma," "we," "our," or "us") is a photo cleanup utility app for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how Picluma accesses, uses, and protects your photo library data when you use the app.
We are committed to your privacy. Picluma processes photos locally on your device to identify cleanup candidates — it does not upload your photos to any server or external service.
What Picluma Accesses
When you grant photo library permission, Picluma accesses the following on your device:
- Photo metadata: File size, creation date, media type, and dimensions.
- Photo URLs: For displaying photo previews within the app.
- Perceptual hash values: Computed locally on your device for duplicate detection.
Picluma processes photos locally using perceptual hashing to identify duplicates and analyzes sharpness to detect blurry photos — it does not transmit photo pixel content to any external service.
How Picluma Uses Your Data
On-Device Processing
All photo analysis — including duplicate detection, screenshot identification, and blurry photo detection — is performed entirely on your device. No photos are uploaded to any server.
What Picluma Does NOT Do
- Picluma does not upload your photos to any cloud service.
- Picluma does not send your photos to any external AI model.
- Picluma does not transmit photo pixel content to external services. Duplicate detection and blur detection use perceptual hashes computed locally on your device.
- Picluma does not track your location.
- Picluma does not sell or share your photo library data with third parties.
Photo Deletion
When you choose to delete photos through Picluma:
- You review first: All suggested deletions are presented to you for review in a deletion basket.
- Your confirmation: You confirm deletions before they are moved.
- iOS confirmation: iOS shows a native confirmation dialog before anything is removed from your photo library.
- Recently Deleted: Deleted photos move to iOS "Recently Deleted" album, where you can recover them for 30 days.
Picluma cannot delete system files, other apps' data, or iOS protected content.
