Frequently Asked Questions
Does Picluma upload my photos?
No. All photo scanning and analysis happens on your device. Your photos are never uploaded to any server.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription anytime in:
- iPhone Settings → App Store → Tap your Apple ID
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find Picluma and tap Cancel
Or visit reportproblem.apple.com
I accidentally deleted photos. Can I recover them?
Deleted photos move to iOS "Recently Deleted" album. Open the Photos app, go to Albums → Recently Deleted, and select the photos you want to recover. Photos are kept in Recently Deleted for 30 days.
Picluma does not have access to recover deleted photos — they must be recovered through the Photos app.
Why does Picluma need photo access?
Picluma needs photo library access to scan for cleanup candidates — duplicates, screenshots, blurry photos, and large videos. Without access, the app cannot function.
I granted photo access but Picluma isn't finding anything.
Make sure Picluma has full photo library access: go to iPhone Settings → Privacy → Photos → Picluma and ensure "All Photos" is selected (not "Selected Photos").
If you have limited access granted, Picluma can only scan the photos you selected. Grant full access for complete results.
How does Picluma identify duplicates?
Picluma uses perceptual hashing — a technique that generates a unique signature for each photo based on visual content. Photos with matching or nearly-matching hashes are identified as potential duplicates.
How does Picluma identify blurry photos?
Picluma analyzes image sharpness locally on your device. Photos below a sharpness threshold are flagged as potentially blurry.
Does Picluma work on iPad?
Picluma is optimized for iPhone. iPad support may be added in a future update.
Is my data private?
Yes. Picluma does not upload, collect, or transmit your photos. All analysis happens on your device. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
I want a refund.
Refunds for subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support directly.
How do I delete my Picluma data?
Deleting the Picluma app removes all locally stored data. Note: this does not delete photos from your photo library.
